Nostalgic Folk Art was born in 2004. I came up with Nostalgic Folk Art name for my paper mache figures because I love the older things that remind me of my childhood and of innocent times. They are figures of folks both childish and impish and I love vintage folk art so putting nostalgic with folk art was/is a perfect and fitting name for my lil figures and business. I feel so blessed and thankful to God for being able to make these little pieces and hope they make you smile.
Thank you for taking the time to visit!

Welcome Archie
We have a new baby Boston Terrier in our home today and his name is Archie. He is 2lbs and 6 oz. of pure sweetness!
I'm soooooooooooooo tired already as our beloved Henry is not pleased with this new additon at all. And so I have been trying to show Henry he is still our baby and also make Archie feel safe and loved in his new home. I know eventually Henry will accept him completely. Right now he is pouting in his kennel. Poor tender hearted Henry.
Here is a picture we took of Henry as soon as we came in the door and brought Archie home. Poor Henry ran and "hid" under the bar stools. I have never seen him look like this, almost as if to say, How long is that staying. Look at his ears they are back so far they are almost touching.
Archie is sleeping on my lap as he has had a heck of a day so far. Playing ,eating ,pooping and trying to keep away from Henry. Even when sleeping he has one bulgy eye open and watching Henry. Henry is a sweetheart and knows he is a puppy but it is clear he is not quite as enchanted as Dan and I are. For so long he was the only pebble on the beach. You know its true that you can lead a horse to water but you cant make it drink.
Tee came by to see lil Archie and man did she fall for his funny face and bowed legs.
There is nothing like a baby animal. Just precious and sweet and soft.

My First Written Review/Kinda like your first dollar, I treasure this dearly
"Carol Roll is a relative new-comer, creating folk art for four years, now. Her paper mache figures reflect significant talent. At first glance, her angels, people, mermaids, and animals may appear cute and dear. At closer look, they are sophisticated, with detailed, expressive faces, each unique. Roll's work is anything but mass produced. It's the real deal. "

ReplyDeletePoor Henry looks quite traumatized, but give him time. Soon these two will be inseparable. ♥ Congratulations and give Archie a smooch for me and tell Henry we still love him very much.

Does he have a lil' soft spot on his noggin?? ♥ I remember our Darla's took forever to grow in. She was like a bobblehead. :> )
