Nostalgic Folk Art was born in 2004. I came up with Nostalgic Folk Art name for my paper mache figures because I love the older things that remind me of my childhood and of innocent times. They are figures of folks both childish and impish and I love vintage folk art so putting nostalgic with folk art was/is a perfect and fitting name for my lil figures and business. I feel so blessed and thankful to God for being able to make these little pieces and hope they make you smile.

Thank you for taking the time to visit!

And when your done visiting here, I'd love for you to check out my work on my etsy shop, www.etsy.com/shop/NostalgicFolkArt

I woke up and checked my email this am

And with a heavy heart i'm posting again about Peanut of CountryFolks Keepsakes, her most precious "sidekick" (as she calls her) has passed away.

Darla was a spunky Boston Terrier, with a mischeivious look and attitude. Darla ruled the roost over there but she was a ruler with a big heart, who gave so much love and joy.

Sometimes we have to make decisions for our beloved pets that are hard but when they are sufferring we must speak for them and give them the peace they deserve after all they have given to us.

Darla has crossed the rainbow bridge and waits for her people happily and patiently. Say hello to Butch and Rev for me please.

A Countryfolks Keepsake!

You know when you get that box with the return address from CountryFolks Keepsakes, your getting something pretty darn adorable, primitive and or whimsical.

So the other day this beauty arrived and she really put a huge smile on my face, i'm still smiling as a matter of fact.
so she's on display til after the holdiay and see how she just brightens up my whole room!

Peanut from Countryfolks Keepsakes will be listing something new on The Mercantile this Oct 1st so be sure to check that out and maybe you'll find something that'll sweeten your room too.

A New Attitude!

Feeling like i made it across the finish line! I made it to 50!!! Holy Crap, i look it for sure but i sure dont feel it. Well most days giggle. Anyway i am making a pledge to walk every other day. It may not seem like much but its a start. In fact i'm going for a walk right after this post.
here are some pics of Dan and i going out for a nice dinner at The Flager Fish Company which is in Flagler Beach, and a tiny spot, super busy as i'm telling you its fresh seafood caught in our waters except for certain varieties of fish and Maine Lobster, which i had, Dan had grouper and it was so thick and fresh! We are definitely going to add that place for special dinners.

And the most wonderful thing!!! When i checked my email this am this popped up from Japan!

No matter what i'm going to have a smile on face today!
My wish is for everyone to have the best days possible!

Busy Weekend

full of rearrainging. I'm getting ansy and NEED to redo my old pink 1964 bathroom. So we picked out some new tile, that looks like bleached wood planks. I think we're gonna do an old beach shack kinda look. We dont have much to work with as no tub and this is a super tiny bathroom, think crusie ship size giggle.  Which is ok as i hate baths yuk, i only use the tub in the other bathroom for the dogs.

In the meantime as the whole bathroom thing is gonna take awhile, i'm all charged up and ready to go so i rearranged a lil area with some new items i picked up at antiqe malls, flea markets and yard sales.  Its amazing just moving around the same things to make the area look all new and interesting. Oh and i also took pics of Henry and Archie outside to share.

I love crocks, old signs, old wood boxes, vintage holiday items, old metal eagles and homemade folk art.
This cow painting i just purchased from Folk Fest this past Aug.

Love this old shoe shine box
see those lil metal shoes? they are so heavy, they are a door stop! too cute.

 Henry on patrol!
Archie waiting for me to throw something anything for him to chase and retrieve!
Tee Thompson, Hot Metal Mama makes this crows, hopefully they'll scare the grasshoppers away. Those frighten me, espescially the big yellow ones. ugh Monsters!
Archie begging me to throw somethng his way! He never stops
 Henry the great lizard hunter!!!!
I know i have way too much stuff, its an illness but not yet ready for an intervention on Hoarders!

New Nostalgic Folk Art at Bowersock Gallery

I havent had a chance to make to many Halloweenies this year as I'm getting tons of requests for ornies for my galleries.  Anyway here is Whats For Supper a really big Halloween piece that I just dropped off at Bowersock Gallery yesterday.

You cant really see the family pet or the witch's ghostly face but you can get the gist of it. To see all the halloween figures please contact Bowersock as i just only have a Krampus which is Christmas too.

and Speaking of Christmas here are some ornies i've added to my site before they head off to the galleries for their Christmas sales (hopefully)

these are paper mache with fibers made to look like old stuffed animal toys
I cannot do requests or duplicates sorry but please check for new items, and check with my galleries and ask to see pics  to see all the new and some old work that is not shown on my site.

He's ALive!!!!

Well thats what i said to Kipp when we skyped this am! I havent spoken to him in almost a week and i was getting nervous and stressed about it.

I know he's 24  and a grown up (but really only barely right?) but also he's in Japan for heaven's sake and its so far away.

He spent the last couple days in Tokyo at DisneyLand there or is it Disney World, i cant remember just so excited to have seen his tired but beautiful face!

Now the rest of the day is cake! :)

My First Written Review/Kinda like your first dollar, I treasure this dearly

"Carol Roll is a relative new-comer, creating folk art for four years, now. Her paper mache figures reflect significant talent. At first glance, her angels, people, mermaids, and animals may appear cute and dear. At closer look, they are sophisticated, with detailed, expressive faces, each unique. Roll's work is anything but mass produced. It's the real deal. "
