Nostalgic Folk Art was born in 2004. I came up with Nostalgic Folk Art name for my paper mache figures because I love the older things that remind me of my childhood and of innocent times. They are figures of folks both childish and impish and I love vintage folk art so putting nostalgic with folk art was/is a perfect and fitting name for my lil figures and business. I feel so blessed and thankful to God for being able to make these little pieces and hope they make you smile.

Thank you for taking the time to visit!

And when your done visiting here, I'd love for you to check out my work on my etsy shop, www.etsy.com/shop/NostalgicFolkArt

Friends In Fast Places

With the Nascar 500 race over and all the festivities over my friend Teresa Thompson of Hot Metal Mama and fellow TDIPTer and I ventured out (race traffic gone)to Ormond Memorial Gardens Museum. Tee was given some race car wreckage

and told have at it for their Nascar exhibit. Because of licensing I couldnt get a pic of all the displays/work but Tee was able to photograph her sculptures.
This is really quite an honor and a really cool feather to put in her talented cap! Her work is so wonderful from her doors and fences to her fun and vintage folk art!
Just check out her offerring this month on TDIPT Mercantile for something you won't find anywhere else. And that is very rare!

I love this piece! (for a better view click on pic. to see the men at work.)

OMG How Cute Is This????

Finally they are friends, well um no not friends but family I should say. They now play, fight, eat and chill together with the usual familiar ups and downs. here are 4pictures of my boys Henry and Archie after a very exhausting day of gardening and a warm bath. I mean these guys are so danged cute!!!! I just wanted to stare at them and do nothing else or just squeeze their fat bellies and kiss them. It was really hard just to let them sleep.

I'm So Tired!!!!!

This past weekend was the Mount Dora Arts Festival weekend and it was so blustery!!!! Sat was HORRENDOUS!!! (as far as the weather) The wind was blowing and knocking my figures over and breaking so many! But the sales were fantastic! I couldnt set up the way I wanted as the wind kinda put a kink in that. Saw many repeat customers and made some new ones. A big hello to these sweethearts!!! www.greggortiz.com. My elephants are dedicated in my heart to Gregg and he knows why. But please check out his work TRULY AMAZING and award winning work!
Here are some pics of me trying to set up my booth for the start on the rainy and windy sat.

This piece won me a blue ribbon, First in Fine Craft and I almost fell off my bench!
so thank you to the judges for giving a folk artist a huge kudo amoungst all the great artists there. "Doll Dreams" will be heading out to Bowersock Gallery in Provincetown, RI/ Ma. :)

Sun was the best ever! The weather was fantastic and I was on a high from the ribbon so nothing could of put a frown on my tired face!

This morn tho I have a ton of unpacking and laundry to do AND I really need to get going and just settle down!

My First Written Review/Kinda like your first dollar, I treasure this dearly

"Carol Roll is a relative new-comer, creating folk art for four years, now. Her paper mache figures reflect significant talent. At first glance, her angels, people, mermaids, and animals may appear cute and dear. At closer look, they are sophisticated, with detailed, expressive faces, each unique. Roll's work is anything but mass produced. It's the real deal. "
