Nostalgic Folk Art was born in 2004. I came up with Nostalgic Folk Art name for my paper mache figures because I love the older things that remind me of my childhood and of innocent times. They are figures of folks both childish and impish and I love vintage folk art so putting nostalgic with folk art was/is a perfect and fitting name for my lil figures and business.
its been such a bzy month and i just couldnt get into the groove of working. i had/have to put boundaries on friends and stick to a schedule. when you work at home sometimes people think your available at any moment, and if they dont understand the creative spirit, they dont understand you have to work when it hits you and if your interrupted it just ruins it. so i'm really going to stick with this and anyway here are 2 new pieces i'm going to be listing on etsy today
but slowly been working on a few pieces and should list pieces tomorrow. so its been a slow work month for me and now feeling full of creativity AND Dan and i are working on the largest figure i have ever made so that has been very time consuming.
will be listing on Etsy today. I really like this one and not sure i want to sell her but will list and if no sale for a bit, then its meant to be she is called Someone To Watch Over Me and looks just fine in my kitchen white wall giggle
and yesterday Henry and Archie had a sweet Irish Terrier visit them and play, so after all that play smelly Henry needed a bath, here is the old baby getting dried off, he just loves this so much, just turns to jelly as his daddy snuggles and dries him.
well its been awhile since i've posted pics of the boys and Henry is doing better health wise, we are begining to wean him off one of his meds as it cause kidney damage and he certainly doesnt need more help in that department soooooo
here they are
Archie is constantly at play, notice how muscular he is! and wild eyed!
Poor Henry never gets the ball for long
Archie running up and snatching the ball from old man Henry
Archie and his best friend, the red ball, his favorite
OMG i couldnt pick which one to add as he's so beautiful, look at that face!!!

My First Written Review/Kinda like your first dollar, I treasure this dearly
"Carol Roll is a relative new-comer, creating folk art for four years, now. Her paper mache figures reflect significant talent. At first glance, her angels, people, mermaids, and animals may appear cute and dear. At closer look, they are sophisticated, with detailed, expressive faces, each unique. Roll's work is anything but mass produced. It's the real deal. "
