Nostalgic Folk Art was born in 2004. I came up with Nostalgic Folk Art name for my paper mache figures because I love the older things that remind me of my childhood and of innocent times. They are figures of folks both childish and impish and I love vintage folk art so putting nostalgic with folk art was/is a perfect and fitting name for my lil figures and business. I feel so blessed and thankful to God for being able to make these little pieces and hope they make you smile.

Small Christmas Miracles

With so many more important things going on in the world, and many people needing big miracles in their lives, this may not seem very important. And in the big scheme of things it isnt, BUT to me it made my heart sing. If you have been reading my blog you know we have introduced a spitfire of a puppy named Archie to our home. I had visions that it would be love at first sight and the two boys would just play and snuggle together and all would be well in wellsville. How very wrong I was. Entering into this with a cold and company coming for Christmas was probably not the smartest thing to do but it was done and here we go. Henry was/is devestated by this and has been so depressed and sullen. It has broken my heart as he is such a loved lil Boston, anyway the puppy deserves to have the attention he needs and love too. So I am torn between the two forgetting they are dogs I suppose. I just want them both to feel loved. Well Henry can hardley be in the same room and the lil one doesnt like him near me (yes I discipline him for that)anyway on Christmas Eve a tiny miracle in our home happened!!!!!! Joyous occassion to which I grabbed my camera and here is a picture of them snuggling (on opposite sides but still!) on our housecoats on the couch IN THE SAME ROOM!!!!!!!!!! "Falllllll on your kneesssssss" ok thats a bit much but it made us all so happy and small tiny tiny miracles are just as wonderful if you see them.

A very Happy New Year to Ya'll and wishing ya'll lots of wonderful things this year!!!!

  1. Oh Geeze, Carol...Sorry you have all been so sick! Hopefully now that things have settled down from all the Christmas Hub-Bub & you are all feeling better, things will sorta fall into place with the Pups. I am keeping fingers & toes crossed for a Tail Wagging Happy ending to this story of Two Bostons. Thanks again GF! Hugs, Starla ;)

  2. Jinx, those pups are just so darn cute!
This picture of them on opposite ends of the couch makes me laugh.

Oh, I can't wait to see that snapshot of the two of them snuggled against one another on that same couch!

  3. Hee-hee... I know the stress you've been feelin' sweetie. It's horrible. But in time they will be best buddies gettin' into things they shouldn't (together), destroyin' things they shouldn't (together) and chewin' on things they shouldn't (together). Bet you can't wait for that. ;> )
Please give them both a big Happy New Year smooch from me!

My First Written Review/Kinda like your first dollar, I treasure this dearly

"Carol Roll is a relative new-comer, creating folk art for four years, now. Her paper mache figures reflect significant talent. At first glance, her angels, people, mermaids, and animals may appear cute and dear. At closer look, they are sophisticated, with detailed, expressive faces, each unique. Roll's work is anything but mass produced. It's the real deal. "
