Nostalgic Folk Art was born in 2004. I came up with Nostalgic Folk Art name for my paper mache figures because I love the older things that remind me of my childhood and of innocent times. They are figures of folks both childish and impish and I love vintage folk art so putting nostalgic with folk art was/is a perfect and fitting name for my lil figures and business. I feel so blessed and thankful to God for being able to make these little pieces and hope they make you smile.

Thank you for taking the time to visit!

When Irish Eyes Are Smiling!

Ok our company left yesterday after staying with us for 2 weeks. After 2 weeks you kinda have a bond with someone if they are great people. Well Mo is a great fella!!! I actually cried on the way home from the airport, but some of that was probably exhaustion from just coming home from GA. Anyway Mo Hawks is from Ireland and he is the tall fella on the left, the other fella is a local, Charlie McGivern and he is a sweetheart too and family friend!
Mo is a friend of my son's from his fratenity at school and he is now our "adopted" son as well. He so enjoyed the beach here and all the different foods that they don't have in Ireland. His favorite fast food is Chick fil A and so that was his last meal here on the way to the airport and true to the Irish spirit he loves potatoes and meat! So I'm gonna miss him around the house and his fascination with things and experiences that were new to him.

Oh and he loved laying out in the sun whether at the beach or in our back yard. We all miss him and his kind spirit, great sense of humor, roboust appetite (he ate everything I made and all cooks love that!)and the way his awsome European grooming products smelled. Even the sunscreen from over there smelled so good! Mo my dear hope to see ya again soon, just thinking about you makes my spanish eyes smile.

awww, Mo is a big hearty fella, and thanks for sharing a pic w/ us. I know he must have really enjoyed his stay at your place, and the ocean is wonderful, and I know you went above and beyond to make him feel right at home.

My First Written Review/Kinda like your first dollar, I treasure this dearly

"Carol Roll is a relative new-comer, creating folk art for four years, now. Her paper mache figures reflect significant talent. At first glance, her angels, people, mermaids, and animals may appear cute and dear. At closer look, they are sophisticated, with detailed, expressive faces, each unique. Roll's work is anything but mass produced. It's the real deal. "
