Nostalgic Folk Art was born in 2004. I came up with Nostalgic Folk Art name for my paper mache figures because I love the older things that remind me of my childhood and of innocent times. They are figures of folks both childish and impish and I love vintage folk art so putting nostalgic with folk art was/is a perfect and fitting name for my lil figures and business. I feel so blessed and thankful to God for being able to make these little pieces and hope they make you smile.

Thank you for taking the time to visit!

The days goes by so fast

I cant believe a week has gone by! Last Sat. am my neighbor and i had a yard sale. The weather was brutal, just so hot but Iris and I had a nice time and sold some goodies. She realllllllllyyyyy sold a fortune in children's outdoor play items and car seats. The best thing was a train set she had where your tot could sit on it and it would go on the track around your yard. What kid wouldnt love that!
Me i sold some old items like an antique child's wheel barrow and gardening set, a couple of old radios, old glass ware and stuff like that super cheap, my hardly ever used bread machine went for $1.00, i just couldnt stand the clutter any longer.

Thank goodness we had dinner plans as the heat wore me out and the last thing i wanted to do was cook, so seeing some comfortable friends, the kind where you can come in a t shirt with an unnoticed stain, and say things unfiltered without them saying your a weirdo or even caring.

Lori and Greg McMullen just moved into their beautiful home and invited us and Molly and Derrick Justice, and Beth and Greg Miliken over for a delicious dinner. Lori is a social butterfly and a really wonderful host. She had drinks and snacks prior to her spanish pasta and 1905 salad dinner.
Pictures were taken but as usual most of them came out too dark but thought i share those that somewhat turned out.  And its a great  excuse to show off  one of Greg's work. He's a talented painter and a collector of folk and outsider art, their home is like a comfortable gallery.
Derrick makes the most beautiful furniture and wish i had pics of  some of his work as it is pretty incredible, maybe he'll get Molly to get him a blog going so he can sell to the masses!

Derrick me and Greg, somehow i always find the booze and food. Oh look at that great iron gate in side and the view of the pool.

Lori and Molly and her new counter top!

My First Written Review/Kinda like your first dollar, I treasure this dearly

"Carol Roll is a relative new-comer, creating folk art for four years, now. Her paper mache figures reflect significant talent. At first glance, her angels, people, mermaids, and animals may appear cute and dear. At closer look, they are sophisticated, with detailed, expressive faces, each unique. Roll's work is anything but mass produced. It's the real deal. "
