Nostalgic Folk Art was born in 2004. I came up with Nostalgic Folk Art name for my paper mache figures because I love the older things that remind me of my childhood and of innocent times. They are figures of folks both childish and impish and I love vintage folk art so putting nostalgic with folk art was/is a perfect and fitting name for my lil figures and business. I feel so blessed and thankful to God for being able to make these little pieces and hope they make you smile.

from our garden

eggplants! we had them sliced really thin with tomatoes, mushrooms, onions, cheese and peppers, drizzled in olive oil, then we had the leftovers in an omlete (well Dan did)

very nice to eat from the garden!

here's Dan giving me the scissors to cut them and there they are cut.

Its sunk in

my oldest friend is really gone, her service was today.   my heart is broken and there is a sadness in me hard to describe.

I'm missing that girlfriend you have for decades that has deep affection, loyalty, honesty, compassion, forgiveness, kindness and a trust
that time made stronger. I doubt i'll be alive another 33 yrs or will ever have a friend like Cindy.

Cancer sucks.

Happiness comes with 4 legs or in my house 8 legs

my boys outside on a cooler sunny day

Archie wants me to try and get it!

waiting "patiently"for me to throw the ball!!!!

and the old queen Henry just sunning his beautiful self

i got a pic of the eagle that soared over my house the day after hearing of my friends passing at the hospital. her husband saw a rainbow,  she made it home and i truly feel my friend will see me every now and again and although i want to live a long life, if i do get sick and die or whatever, i know she'll be there and i wont be afraid.

a broken heart again

in less than 4 mos i have lost 2 out 3 of my oldest and longest loved friends.  my oldest friend, who just had her 57th birthday Sept 26, died.  I knew her for 33-34 yrs.

her husband is devastated and my heart aches for him.  Cindy's suffering is over. She was too young and such a force of nature.    she beat her breast cancer,  but it had reached her liver.

Cindy was the nicest person, a true friend and one of the bravest people i have ever or will ever know.

last night Dan and i planted a lovely bush in her honor in my memory garden.

right now i cant recall the name of the plant, it starts with an x,   it has a bright orange flower and reminds me of  Miami and Cindy's native Florida essence.    it can be seen from my table in the garden.

Rick who Dan and i have known for about 25yrs passed in July, his plant is a Mexican sunflower, behind the arbor. he loved to vacation in Mexico, was as bright as the yellow flowers that bloom.

My  soul is so crushed, the world has lost another remarkable person.

My First Written Review/Kinda like your first dollar, I treasure this dearly

"Carol Roll is a relative new-comer, creating folk art for four years, now. Her paper mache figures reflect significant talent. At first glance, her angels, people, mermaids, and animals may appear cute and dear. At closer look, they are sophisticated, with detailed, expressive faces, each unique. Roll's work is anything but mass produced. It's the real deal. "
