Nostalgic Folk Art was born in 2004. I came up with Nostalgic Folk Art name for my paper mache figures because I love the older things that remind me of my childhood and of innocent times. They are figures of folks both childish and impish and I love vintage folk art so putting nostalgic with folk art was/is a perfect and fitting name for my lil figures and business. I feel so blessed and thankful to God for being able to make these little pieces and hope they make you smile.

I woke up and checked my email this am

And with a heavy heart i'm posting again about Peanut of CountryFolks Keepsakes, her most precious "sidekick" (as she calls her) has passed away.

Darla was a spunky Boston Terrier, with a mischeivious look and attitude. Darla ruled the roost over there but she was a ruler with a big heart, who gave so much love and joy.

Sometimes we have to make decisions for our beloved pets that are hard but when they are sufferring we must speak for them and give them the peace they deserve after all they have given to us.

Darla has crossed the rainbow bridge and waits for her people happily and patiently. Say hello to Butch and Rev for me please.

  1. Aaw.... Sad. Such good and wonderful things these little dogs bring to us in our lives. Sorry to hear about your friends loss. I too am a proud owner of a Boston. They are a great breed! Love their personalities! Hugs to Darla...

  3. Jinx, my heart is also heavy for our dear friend. Its never easy saying goodbye and the grieving process is so gut wrenching. I can only pray for our friend and let her know that we are here for her when she needs a shoulder. x0

  4. Carol, thank you for your tribute to my Darla. My heart is still so very heavy and the tears continue to flow. But I'm grateful the good Lord above chose to bless my husband and I with one of His special creatures. She brought such light and happiness into our home. ♥

My First Written Review/Kinda like your first dollar, I treasure this dearly

"Carol Roll is a relative new-comer, creating folk art for four years, now. Her paper mache figures reflect significant talent. At first glance, her angels, people, mermaids, and animals may appear cute and dear. At closer look, they are sophisticated, with detailed, expressive faces, each unique. Roll's work is anything but mass produced. It's the real deal. "
