Nostalgic Folk Art was born in 2004. I came up with Nostalgic Folk Art name for my paper mache figures because I love the older things that remind me of my childhood and of innocent times. They are figures of folks both childish and impish and I love vintage folk art so putting nostalgic with folk art was/is a perfect and fitting name for my lil figures and business. I feel so blessed and thankful to God for being able to make these little pieces and hope they make you smile.

Thank you for taking the time to visit!

A Great Weekend!

Running behind in this blog but have been so danged busy!!! Anyway for Mother's Day, which has turned into a Mother's Weekend (heehee), Sat. we took my mom out for dinner at Martins which is across from the ocean and the shrimp there is KILLER! Its one of mom's and my favorite places to eat and the view is so old Fl to me. Then on Sunday my boys made my favorite, grilled lamb chops. Here's Kipp working the grill. And yes the gas grill is in the background but I like the charcoal flavor not available in a gas grill. Heck I think that grill is probably all rusted out and probably needs a push to the curb.

Ok have to show pics of the Boston babies and notice they are not together. Henry still has problems with Archie but Archie is an imp and could get on St. Francis Asis last nerve. But Lord that face gets him off every time! giggle

The weather was wonderful and the company the best! The spirits were flowing the food was delicious and look at the view. I love love love my little sitting space and love to sit there with a drink and nibbles.
I mean it really takes me away from any stress that may be in my life and brings out my faith in God. Nature no matter how small a spot can do that.

We added corn and tomatoes this year and think we will continue to expand the edible part. Can't wait to fry some green tomatoes!

The end of the day and all the celebrating done here are the Bostons on each end of the couch.

Henry doesn't look like he's having a sound sleep giggle probably wondering when Archie will pounce!!

No words needed cept Archie.

  1. Carol, so glad you had a nice Mothers Day weekend! That Kipp gets more handsome by the day....he's such a doll, and how sweet of him to grill for his Mama!
Oh, your Boston Babies are just the very cutest! You take the best pics, and thank you for sharing them w/ us fellow doggie lovers!

OK, I was getting lost looking at all your past works of art in your sidebar, and just when I think I found the best, I continue to scroll down, and another one takes it's place. You truly are the most talented paper mache/ paper clay artist I've seen! Your work is outstanding, and so full of nostalgic charm, and all your pieces deserve 1st prize, but congrats on the masterpiece that was selected at Mt Dora!

  3. What a wonderful Mothers Day weekend you had! Love the pic of Kipp! Yep, we tossed our gas grill years ago and only use the old fashioned charcoal kind.
Your garden is lovely! A pefect place to chat with the good Lord above. ♥
Those pics of Henry and Archie are priceless. Archie in all his puppy pinkness makes me smile and Henry... well, his expressions speaks volumes. I love that dog! :> )
    Enjoy your week darlin'!!

My First Written Review/Kinda like your first dollar, I treasure this dearly

"Carol Roll is a relative new-comer, creating folk art for four years, now. Her paper mache figures reflect significant talent. At first glance, her angels, people, mermaids, and animals may appear cute and dear. At closer look, they are sophisticated, with detailed, expressive faces, each unique. Roll's work is anything but mass produced. It's the real deal. "
