Nostalgic Folk Art was born in 2004. I came up with Nostalgic Folk Art name for my paper mache figures because I love the older things that remind me of my childhood and of innocent times. They are figures of folks both childish and impish and I love vintage folk art so putting nostalgic with folk art was/is a perfect and fitting name for my lil figures and business. I feel so blessed and thankful to God for being able to make these little pieces and hope they make you smile.

Thank you for taking the time to visit!

Hot off Stella's Blog!

this is important enough to interrupt Henry's yoga session!

I got this off of one of my favorite blogs to visit, Thru Stella's Eyes, http://thrustellaseyes.blogspot.com

The New York State Senate has passed a bill that would require that convicted animal abusers - just like convicted sex offenders - register with the division of criminal justice services.
AND those who have been convicted of abusing and torturing animals would also have to undergo a required psychiatric evaluation and would be banned from ever owning pets again.
It's the first state to do this!

Hopefully other states will follow this common sense law!

Thanks for spreading the good news Stella!

2 things to share

Tee Thompson my wandering friend sent me a picture of this at a Wal Mart somewhere in the northeast coast. I guess this is Wal Mart Nation camping. and Kipp sent me a picture of some of the delicious food he is enjoyin in Poland. Cheesey cabbage patties are especially good. apparantly the kraut and pickled foods are incredibley delicious over there. No way he would eat kraut here nor have i ever seen Kipp eat a pickle!

This is going to be a great show

Greetings!  Our new exhibit begins September 7 and promises to be a great show!  We are featuring art from private collections.  Vintage pieces from celebrated self-taught artists will be on display until October 15.

My First Written Review/Kinda like your first dollar, I treasure this dearly

"Carol Roll is a relative new-comer, creating folk art for four years, now. Her paper mache figures reflect significant talent. At first glance, her angels, people, mermaids, and animals may appear cute and dear. At closer look, they are sophisticated, with detailed, expressive faces, each unique. Roll's work is anything but mass produced. It's the real deal. "
