Nostalgic Folk Art was born in 2004. I came up with Nostalgic Folk Art name for my paper mache figures because I love the older things that remind me of my childhood and of innocent times. They are figures of folks both childish and impish and I love vintage folk art so putting nostalgic with folk art was/is a perfect and fitting name for my lil figures and business.

Thank you for taking the time to visit!

And when your done visiting here, I'd love for you to check out my work on my etsy shop,

The Best to you always!

RIP Mr Gene Wilder

my number 1 and 2 favorite movies are Willie Wonka and The Chocolate Factory (the original version) and Young Frankenstein  (Frank en sht een)  and they inter change in order too.   Young Frankenstein is still so funny every time i watch it.  My hubs and i still say at certain times  "Put ze candle back"  and when something is super fabulous, i may sing, not as well as Madeline Khan, "sweet mysteries of life i have found you"  or the hump on Marty Feldman moving or Abby Normal.

Grandpa Joe was my dad eventually and Charlie was the sweetest kindest angel.  And when Veruca Salt became a bad egg, i couldnt believe they removed her so quickly, she was brilliant! tho i never understood the boat trip that got crazy it still was such a magical movie for a 10 yr old to see on the big screen, oh the place where all could be eaten!

Thank you so much Mr. Wilder,  for the joys and the laughs.  I imagine your riding in one of those magical helicopter glass ceiling smashing things up in a wonderous place in heaven.

redoing my living room

one piece got me moving things around. i did a trade with my good friend Andrea and got a large metal garden stand so of course i had to find a place for it.   btw she got some 1800 brown transfer ware dishes that we only used for very special occasions but we both fell in love with the others item sooooooo

i moved stuff around and this is what i have so far. still needs some jujjing

here is the metal plant stand in all its chipped paint and rustiness

Here's my old smaller planter, i'm so happy around the old garden things

and another metal planter, added this vintage French apt sign to it, now i'm waiting for weather to cool so i can plant and dry flowers to fill it up with

moved this from one side of the room and added the items on the top added the seeds sign and of course my vintage concrete chickens

gardening and birds

and of course bostons, Obsessed!

looks like Dan is wrapping up something for shipping in the background! (bubble wrap in background)

any suggestions are appreciated but what i'd really like is a large chipped up painting of white and pink roses, oh a girl's gotta have her dreams.

have the best days possible!

My sweet Angel

Henry is doing as good as he can, and i am ok with the new normal as its better than, well you know.  his medications are working, but his nose is still runny. i think maybe he has developed allergies.

anyway thought i'd share this pic, one that he actually looks at the camera, but he wasnt happy about it. love this one for that reason and also because it shows his Harry Potter marking.   this fella is so special!

and here is a pic of my other angel, Archie who is grooming Henry who was tired and maybe a bit sick

or maybe that little imp was trying to get "his" yellow ball from being too close to Henry. giggle

getting back to work and getting some bigger pieces completed.

its bee quite the whirlwind here especially since feb.

Hills and Valleys Hills and Valleys   and man am i grateful for all the blessings around!!!!!

My First Written Review/Kinda like your first dollar, I treasure this dearly

"Carol Roll is a relative new-comer, creating folk art for four years, now. Her paper mache figures reflect significant talent. At first glance, her angels, people, mermaids, and animals may appear cute and dear. At closer look, they are sophisticated, with detailed, expressive faces, each unique. Roll's work is anything but mass produced. It's the real deal. "
